Experienced Riders to Represent the United States in Verona, Italy

The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has announced the six horse-and-rider combinations that will represent the country at the 2024 FEI Endurance World Championship for Seniors in Verona, Italy. The team, selected by Chef d'Equipe Kate Chadderton, includes a mix of experienced and up-and-coming riders, all of whom have proven their ability to compete at the highest levels of the sport.

The team members are:

  • Buck Davidson and Erina
  • Doug Payne and Quantum Leap
  • Jennie Brannigan and Cooley Quicksilver
  • Will Coleman and Off the Record
  • Lisa Marie Fergusson and Honor Me
  • Rebecca Hart and Magic Meli>

Davidson, Payne, and Brannigan are all veterans of the U.S. Endurance Team, having competed at multiple World Championships and Pan American Games. Coleman, Fergusson, and Hart are all relatively new to the team, but they have all had success at the international level.

The 2024 FEI Endurance World Championship will be held from August 21-25 in Verona, Italy. The event will feature over 150 riders from around the world competing for individual and team medals. The U.S. team will be one of the favorites to win a medal, as they have a strong history of success at the World Championships.

Davidson and Erina Lead Experienced Team

Buck Davidson and Erina are the most experienced combination on the U.S. team. Davidson has competed at four World Championships and two Pan American Games, winning individual gold at the 2011 Pan American Games. Erina is a 13-year-old Arabian mare who has been Davidson's top horse for the past several years.

Payne and Quantum Leap Aim for Success

Doug Payne and Quantum Leap are another experienced combination on the team. Payne has competed at three World Championships and three Pan American Games, winning team gold at the 2015 Pan American Games. Quantum Leap is a 12-year-old Thoroughbred gelding who has been Payne's top horse for the past several years.

Brannigan and Cooley Quicksilver Seek Redemption

Jennie Brannigan and Cooley Quicksilver are looking to redeem themselves at the 2024 World Championships after a disappointing performance at the 2022 World Championships. Brannigan is a two-time Pan American Games medalist, and Cooley Quicksilver is a 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse who has been Brannigan's top horse for the past several years.
