Registration Period for DV-2025

The U.S. government has announced the registration period for the DV-2025 Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) Program. The online application process will be open from October 4, 2023, at 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) to November 7, 2023, at 12:00 PM EST.

What is the Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) Program?

The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program is a lottery-based program that awards up to 50,000 immigrant visas each year to individuals from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States.

Eligibility Requirements for the 2023 DV Lottery

To be eligible for the 2023 DV Lottery, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a citizen of a qualifying country. A list of qualifying countries can be found on the official DV Lottery website.
• Have at least a high school education or its equivalent, or have two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience.

How to Register for the DV Lottery

Interested applicants should follow these steps to register for the DV-2025 Diversity Visa Lottery:

1. Visit the official DV Lottery website at https://dvprogram.state.gov/.
2. Complete the electronic application (DS-5501) and provide all required information.
3. Submit your application during the specified registration period.
4. Keep your confirmation number for future reference.

Selection Process and Notification

The DV Lottery is a random lottery draw. Selected applicants will be notified by mail generally between May and July 2024. Winners will have approximately six months to complete the visa application process and arrange to immigrate to the United States.
